Dany Green is a Mosaic Artist and Multimedia Designer living in Washington D.C. She is originally from the Philadelphia area, where she discovered the mixed media work of Isaiah Zagar through his Magic Gardens. Dany is a self-taught artist whose unique approach pushes the boundaries of traditional mosaics.

Sonia Jones is a self-taught artist from Oakland, California, currently residing in the DMV metropolitan area. The portraits she creates aim to explore black identity across the diaspora and widen the viewer’s experience of Africa and its beautiful people. Sonia is also an experienced UX designer currently teaching a capstone course at the Maryland Institute College of Art.

Jodi Kostelnik is the creator behind The Neighborgoods, a local business with their first retail location in Shaw, DC. Her foodie-themed giftable goods are inspired by the beauty of food, how it brings people together, and the joy of gifting. She loves to bring a smile to her customers’ faces and create products to brighten the everyday.

Born in Corinto, El Salvador, a passionate mixed media artist and graphic designer. From charcoal drawings to working with acrylics, metal and wood to creating a clothing brand inspired by the love of DC. A community artist and member of Adams Morgan Community Alliance, Josue has worked with a variety of youth and change-making organizations.

Torie Partridge is the owner of Cherry Blossom Creative, a design studio and shop in Shaw, DC. She is the illustrator behind the Neighborhood Maps Project, a growing series of colorful maps that celebrate neighborhood culture, cities, and all the places we call home. Torie believes deeply in the power of hyper-local culture and investing in the place you live. She’s also a conscious movement facilitator, tarot enthusiast, avid traveler, and lover of city parks.

This event will be streamed via Zoom. In order to participate fully, attendees should plan to join on the Zoom app via their computer, tablet, or mobile device with enough bandwidth to support viewing video. In order to ensure only those who have registered for the event are able to attend — and to create space for intimate conversations — only those whose display name fully matches the name on our registration list will be admitted from the waiting room. Built by 100% volunteer power, DC Design Week is an annual celebration of this community, hosted by AIGA DC. AIGA Member On-Sale begins 9/5 at 10:00am and the General Public On-Sale begins 9/10 at 10:00am. 100% of the proceeds from DCDW events go toward future AIGA DC programming and the Design Continuum Fund (DCF) scholarship fund. We believe in fostering the next generation of designers through helping local design-minded and underrepresented students as they pursue their education.
